The Cliffs
The Cliffs was built by Joshua Fisher in 1753 but its most famous resident was Ben Franklin's daughter, Sarah Franklin Bache, who rented it in 1789. The house was restored in 1929 and 1976 yet it fell victim to vacancy, vandalism, and a major fire in 1986. Now the heavily graffitied shell of the building is a site of interest for urban explorers and disc golfers who catch site of it from the nearby Sedgeley Woods disc golf course. That the site still finds devotees thirty years after its catastrophic blaze is testament to the draw of historic properties, even when not in perfect condition (or perhaps because of their decay).
